The Enforcement Directorate has accused Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of intentionally consuming sugary foods like mangoes, sweets, and sugar in his tea to raise his blood sugar levels. They argue that he is doing this in order to establish grounds for bail by citing fluctuations in his blood sugar levels.
In response to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s request for regular health check-ups and consultations with his doctor before Special Judge Kaveri Baweja, the Enforcement Directorate issued its statement.

During the court proceedings before Judge Kaveri, ED counsel Zoheb Hossain highlighted that Arvind Kejriwal is currently in court custody due to the ongoing case. Hossain expressed concern over Kejriwal’s dietary habits in jail, stating that despite claiming to have high diabetes, Kejriwal was seen consuming mangoes, sweets, and sugar with his tea. Hossain emphasized that Kejriwal was permitted prescribed home-cooked food but chose to consume items that could potentially affect his health.
Hossain further stated that these actions could potentially serve as grounds for bail. The agency uncovered these details after reaching out to Tihar jail and requesting information regarding Kejriwal’s diet and medications.

Advocate Vivek Jain, representing Kejriwal, objected to the submissions made by the ED, claiming that they were aimed solely at garnering media attention. Jain also announced his intention to withdraw the current application and submit a revised one in response to the allegations made by the Enforcement Directorate.
Arvind Kejriwal, who was arrested on March 21 by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the alleged excise scam, is currently held in Tihar’s Jail No-2.
