The police solved the case of a realtor who obtained fatal stabbing injuries at the city limits on Saturday evening. The man was found dead on the outskirts of the city. The investigation showed his wife and her mother took responsibility for the act which began after years of alleged torment. The Soladevanahalli police arrested both accused Yashasvini Singh, 19, and Hema Bai, 37.
The incident took place in BGS Layout near Bilijaji of north Bengaluru. Criminal investigators suspect Loknath received a drug before he suffered his final attack. The deceased had criminal fraud charges. He married Yashasvini 4 months ago. Yashasvini’s parents were against this marriage. Since September 2023 he has been engaged in threatening activities and blackmailing behavior towards her family about their marriage acceptance.
As quoted by the Times of India, police said “That is when the daughter-mother duo decided to put an end to the torture. They thought that’s the only way to get rid of Loknath. Knowing his vices, they worked on a murder plan and waited for the right opportunity.”
He started harassing her after marriage, wherever she denies to fulfill his physical demands. His situation grew worse after forcing Yashasvini to persuade her mother to engage in physical contact with him. The intolerable behavior made Yashasvini end their relationship and return to her parent’s house. Loknath tracked Yashasvini down before he threatened her father Krishna Singh along with the rest of her family about major negative consequences if she stayed away.
Loknath contacted Yashasvini early Saturday to announce his plans to meet her face-to-face. He departed from his house at 10 a.m. while driving his SUV to the city but he informed his sister that he was heading towards the city. Yashasvini together with her mother used sleeping pills to prepare the food. Loknath came to the get-together with beer since he thought everyone would meet. He transported both Yashasvini and the prepared food before guiding his SUV toward an isolated section of the BGS Layout. Yashasvini gave the suspect drugged food when he became drunk in the car at the same time she told her mother their precise position.
Hema came and attacked Loknath with a knife after he started feeling sleepy. Loknath attempted to flee by running around 150 meters until he hid inside a parked autorickshaw. People reached the spot after hearing his creams. They found him dead and informed the police.
