New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah Saturday asserted that a ‘prosperous nation must have zero tolerance for drug trafficking.’
Said the Home Minister: “Drug trafficking poses a threat to society. Any prosperous nation must have zero tolerance for drug trafficking. We have to save the younger generations by reining in drug trafficking.”
“The money made off sale of drugs is used to fund anti-national activities. After PM Modi assumed charge as PM, central government adopted a zero-tolerance policy for drugs. This issue of drugs has a detrimental effect on our society, economy and national security,” added the minister.
Further in the day, over 30,000 kgs of seized drugs was destroyed by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) across 4 locations under the watch of the union minister via video conference from Chandigarh.
Home Minister Shah was speaking at the National Conference on Drug trafficking and National Security in Chandigarh.
