Home Minister Amit Shah has addressed the speculations surrounding the sudden resignation of former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar. In an exclusive interview with ANI, Shah emphasized Dhankhar’s adherence to constitutional responsibilities. “Dhankhar ji was sitting on a constitutional post, and during his tenure, he did good work according to the Constitution. He has resigned due to his personal health problems,” Amit Shah said.
The Home Minister warned against making a fuss over the sudden resignation. “One should not try to stretch it too much and find something,” he added. Meanwhile, he dismissed the opposition’s claims that Dhankhar was under “house arrest”. Shah said the interpretation of truth and lies should not rely solely on opposition statements.

“Dhankhar Sahab’s resignation letter is clear in itself. He has cited health reasons for his resignation. He has also expressed heartfelt gratitude towards the Prime Minister and other ministers and government members for his good tenure,” Amit Shah said, citing the Former VP’s health issues.
His remarks come after certain opposition leaders claimed Jagdeep Dhankhar was ‘silenced’ by the government. Congress leader and LoP Rahul Gandhi had earlier raised questions about the former VP’s whereabouts and accused the ruling BJP of taking the country back to “medieval times.” Congress leader Jairam Ramesh also alleged that it was the first time in Indian history that a VP’s resignation was accompanied by what he described as silencing.
