In a peculiar incident in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, a civil judge’s dog was reportedly stolen, leading to a police case involving more than two dozen individuals. The judge, stationed in Hardoi, was informed by his family in the Suncity colony about the theft, which they alleged was committed by their neighbor, Dumpy Ahmed.
The altercation between the two families began when Ahmed’s wife claimed the judge’s dog had attacked her and her daughter. On May 16, around 9:45 pm, Ahmed’s wife confronted the judge’s family, demanding accountability for the alleged attack. The confrontation escalated into a heated argument, during which Ahmed’s son, Qadir Khan, allegedly threatened the judge’s family.
The judge, upon learning about the incident, contacted the Bareilly Police from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, and lodged a formal complaint. The FIR detailed the sequence of events and accused Ahmed’s family of theft and intimidation. Subsequently, Anita Chauhan, the area officer, instructed the police to initiate legal action and search for the stolen dog.
Despite the intense situation, the judge’s family refrained from making any public statements when approached by the media. The police continue to investigate the case, which has garnered significant attention due to the involvement of a judicial officer.
