A day before the results, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Saturday reached Telangana to keep all leaders together and on the same page following exit poll predicted a clear win for Congress.
Shivakumar addressed reporters in Bengaluru, affirming their vigilance over the situation and indicating that their party nominees had provided information about those in contact prior to the result declaration.

He expressed confidence in the loyalty of their leaders, ensuring none would defect. Known for his adept crisis management within the party, Shivakumar’s past record stands as a testament.
In 2002, during a no-confidence motion against Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, he safeguarded the Congress MLAs, housing them in a Bengaluru resort to prevent opposition interference and secured the government’s position.

Similarly, in the 2017 Rajya Sabha election in Gujarat, he shielded Congress MLAs in a Bengaluru resort, aiding Ahmed Patel’s victory by ensuring their seclusion from opposition influence, showcasing his strategic prowess in pivotal moments for the party.
