People are preparing to travel home for festivals like Diwali and Chhath Puja. With rising passenger demand, the railway administration has, as usual, resumed operating festival special trains. However, long waiting lists on certain routes may cause inconvenience. Check which routes to avoid to skip the long waiting lines.
Long Waiting list can cause you trouble
The waiting lists for both sleeper and AC coaches on many festival special trains passing through Hardoi are so long that passengers are unable to get tickets.

According to a Jaagran report, the 05284 Anand Vihar Terminal-Muzaffarpur Festival Special train, which passes through Hardoi, has a waiting list of 58 in sleeper class on October 16, 111 on October 19, and 69 on October 23. The third AC economy class has a waiting list of 33 on October 16, 70 on October 19, and 21 on October 23. The situation is similar to the Third AC as well.
Reports also say that the waiting list was 44 on October 16, 75 on October 19, and 43 on October 23. Similarly, the 03312 Chandigarh–Dhanbad Festival Special train had 55 passengers on October 16, 107 on October 19, and 45 on October 23. This train consists entirely of third-AC economy coaches.
The 04456 New Delhi–Dhanbad Festival Special had no waiting in sleeper class on October 17, 18, 19, and 21, while 39 passengers were on the waiting list on October 20 and 46 on October 22. The situation is also concerning for the 04022 New Delhi–Gorakhpur Festival Special, where the sleeper class waiting list was 138 on October 17 and 111 on October 24.
Anand Vihar Terminal-Sitamarhi Festival Special train
In Third AC, 127 passengers are on the waiting list on October 17 and 58 on October 24. Similarly, in the 04416 Anand Vihar Terminal–Sitamarhi Festival Special train, no berths are available in Third AC from October 17 to 22, while in Sleeper class, 70 passengers are on the waiting list on October 17, 50 on October 20, and 72 on October 21.
Passenger rush is also at its peak in the 04829 Jodhpur–Gorakhpur Festival Special. In this train, the Sleeper class waiting list is 116 on October 17 and 83 on October 24, while in Third AC, it is 61 and 41 respectively.
