As India celebrated Diwali on Thursday, wishes poured in from the world. Leaders of different countries, envoys and officials extended Diwali greetings to India. Now, a video has gone viral in the internet, where White House military band is playing Lord Vishnu aarti on ‘Om Jai Jagadish Hare.’ The video has garnered attentions and netizens seem to be mesmerized by the performance of White House military band. The band performed during Diwali celebration event at the White House.

The video has been shared by Gita Gopinath, the First Deputy Managing Director of the IMF on X. Sharing the video, she wrote, “Wonderful to hear the White House military band play Om Jai Jagdeesh Hare for Diwali. Happy Diwali.” United States President Joe Biden celebrated Diwali on Tuesday at the White House in an event attended by Indian American politicians and staff.

In the video, band members are seen synchronising the aarti on piano, sitar, violin and drum. While they play the tunes, they are captured by several Indian-American dignitaries who attended the Diwali Celebration event at the White House. The entire hall looks beautified with marigolds and lights. The video has received 775.5K views and 29k likes on X.

How Did Netizens React?

Grammy winner Music composer, Ricky Kej commented on the video an appreciated the band members. He wrote, “Nicely done! great arrangement, and the violinist did all the glissandos pretty well.” One user called it a beautiful celebration and wrote, “A beautiful celebration of Diwali’s spirit—music truly bridges cultures and brings everyone together!”

Another used lauded the Diwali celebration at the White House. He said, “It is very nice to see that Diwali is being celebrated in White House. It feels very good…”

Netizens appreciated the members for their performance and called it ‘elegant’ and ‘prfound.’ Another user added, “Proud on my Indian culture and thanks to the foreign people for recognising our culture and displaying it.”

Donald Trump Extends Diwali Greetings

Former US President and Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump also extend Diwali wishes to India. He shared post on X and wrote, “Happy Diwali to All. I hope the Festival of Lights leads to the Victory of Good over Evil!”

In his post, Trump also mentioned his intention to strengthen the existing ‘great partnership’ with India and Prime Minister Modi, whom he referred as his ‘Good friend.’ Trump wrote, “Under my administration, we will also strengthen our great partnership with India and my good friend, Prime Minister Modi.”
