Major fire broke out at a cotton godown in Edayarpalayam, Coimbatore, according to the officials on Wednesday. However, no causalities have been reported till now.

Officials privy to the development stated that the firefighting operations are underway. Fire tenders rushed to the spot as soon as they received the information of a massive fire. More details underway.
On April 1, a fire erupted at Tirusulam hill, located opposite Chennai Airport, causing panic among residents as flames rapidly spread due to dry trees.

Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services (TNFRS) and locals collaborated to extinguish the fire, bringing the situation under control after three hours.
Authorities suspect the fire may have been caused by discarded cigarettes. Pallavaram police are investigating the incident, assuring that airport operations were unaffected.
