In today’s fast-paced world, impatience has become a common trait, affecting our expectations for services, technology, and personal interactions. A video went viral on social media from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, where a 60-year-old man named Gulab Khan was violently assaulted by a ward boy at a district hospital. Khan, who had come to the emergency department seeking treatment for a high fever, faced a shocking and inhumane response instead of the medical care he needed.

Having waited for hours without receiving any attention, Khan decided to leave, feeling neglected and frustrated. At that moment, the ward boy’s frustration boiled over, leading to a brutal assault. The ward boy not only tore up Khan’s ticket but also subjected him to severe physical abuse, including twisting his arm, slapping him repeatedly, and forcibly throwing him out of the hospital. Despite Khan’s pleas for mercy and his desperate attempts to be allowed to leave peacefully, the ward boy remained unmoved, displaying a disturbing lack of compassion. The incident, captured in a disturbing video that quickly went viral on social media, prompted an immediate response from the authorities.

Doctors Ignored Assault In Jhansi Hospital

The situation was inflamed by the fact that the assault occurred in the presence of doctors and healthcare staff, none of whom intervened to stop the ward boy’s actions. This lack of intervention from medical professionals further highlighted the gravity of the situation and the failure of the hospital’s staff to uphold their duty of care.

In addition to the physical abuse, Gulab Khan sought help from the police, but his complaints initially went unheard, with no immediate action taken. The video documenting the assault has since gone viral on social media, drawing widespread outrage and calls for justice.

In response to the incident, Dr. Pramod Kumar Katiyar, the Regional Chief Medical Superintendent, has addressed the situation, acknowledging the severity of the matter. He stated that the case has come to their attention, and a committee will be established to investigate the incident thoroughly. Dr. Katiyar emphasized that strict action would be taken against those found guilty of misconduct, reaffirming that no one is above the law.
