On reports of Netanyahu cancelling his India trip

There were reports in the Israeli media that said Israeli PM Netanyahu, who was scheduled to visit New Delhi in December, had called off the trip after the deadly Red Fort blast, which killed at least 12 people. The visit was his first official trip to India since 2018. The reason for postponing the visit was due to security concerns following the terror attack in the capital earlier this month.

The reports said he would look for a new date next year, depending on security assessments. On November 12, the Israeli Prime Minister expressed his condolences to PM Modi and the people of India after the car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, which killed several people and injured many others. In a message shared on X, Netanyahu said India and Israel are ancient civilisations built on lasting values, and added that terror attacks cannot weaken the strong resolve of their people.
