In Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, a train accident occurred on Thursday. Coaches of the Dibrugarh Express traveling from Chandigarh derailed from the tracks near Jhilahi Railway Station. Initial reports suggest that 10 to 12 coaches have derailed. The AC coach of the Dibrugarh Express has been severely affected. Upon derailing, passengers experienced a sudden jolt, causing panic and screams. Passengers quickly disembarked after the train came to a halt. So far, there is no information on any casualties in this incident. Railway authorities have begun investigating the causes of the accident.

As per reports, 4 people lost their life in the incident and more than 20 are injured. A rescue team was dispatched from Gonda by the administration. Reports indicate that 10 AC coaches were affected in the incident, which occurred some distance away from Jhilahi railway station.

According to reports, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed officials to promptly reach the site and accelerate relief efforts. The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) stated that he has also directed for the injured to receive proper treatment.
