New Delhi: The DG Jail of Jammu & Kashmir Hemant Kumar Lohia was murdered today. Two terrorists organizations TRF and PAFF have claimed the responsibility for the murder. Police are currently investigating these claims. Meanwhile, the Lohia’s servant is currently absconding and a search is on. Forensic and crime investigation team also inspected Lohia’s house.
The body of Hemant Kumar Lohia was found at a friend’s house as renovation work was going on in his house. So he was staying at Rajiv Khajuria’s house. The Home Minister has asked for a complete report on the matter.

“Yasir Ahmed is the main accused”
ADGP Jammu Mukesh Singh said, “It has come to the fore that one domestic helper Yasir Ahmed is the main accused. Initial investigation reveals that he was quite aggressive in his behavior and was also under depression as per sources.”
He further said, “So far no terror act is apparent as per the Initial investigation but a thorough probe is on to rule out any possibility. The weapon of offence has been seized besides some documentary evidence reflecting his mental state.”

DG calls it unfortunate
Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh termed it as a “very unfortunate” incident. He said a search operation has been launched to nab the domestic help Yasir Ahmed, who is currently absconding.
According to Dilbag Singh, the suspect also tried to set the body of 57-year-old Lohia on fire. Lohia was promoted and appointed as the Director General of Prisons of the Union Territory in August.
Lohia was posted as DG Jail in August this year. No information has been revealed about why he was murdered so far.
