Despite twin attack in Jammu, Bharat Jodo Yatra resumes amid tight security

New Delhi: The Bharat Jodo Yatra on Sunday resumed from Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir that will rest at Samba in the evening. Former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi headed the ‘yatra’ amid tight security after a twin blast in Jammu.

The Congress’ ‘caravan’ took rest on Saturday and continued the mass procession on Sunday at 7 AM. The footmarch today resumed from Hiranagar near the International Border along the Jammu-Pathankot highway, sealed by police and other security forces.

Meanwhile on Saturday, a twin blast attack took place in Narwal area on the outskirts of Jammu city on Saturday. At least nine people were injured.

Following the incident, the security was beefed up to ensure peaceful march. Police, CRPF and other security agencies are keeping a tight vigil.

Bharat Jodo Yatra to end in Srinagar 

The Bharat Jodo Yatra has entered the Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, heading towards the end of the footmarch in Srinagar on January 30. The Yatra started on September 7, last year from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, the weather in Jammu and Kashmir is inclement due to which, the yatra delayed for one and half an hour to start.
