Delhiites Alert! Now You Can Book Your DTC Ticket Via WhatsApp; Here’s How

The Delhi government is planning to launch a WhatsApp-based bus ticketing system in the national capital.

Delhi government is all set to announce a WhatsApp-based ticketing system for Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), travelling in Delhi NCR. DTC has taken the decision after Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). Passengers can book tickets in Delhi Metro through WhatsApp and other apps.

DMRC is the first metro rail service to make the digital ticketing process easy. Initially, the service started in Delhi Metro and later expanded to all the corridors in Delhi NCR, including Gurugram and Noida.

It is expected that the digital ticketing service via WhatsApp for Delhi buses will be available for commuters in the early weeks of 2024. However, the exact date has not been issued yet.

Process to book a ticket through WhatsApp
For Delhi Metro services and digital tokens, a simple ‘Hi’ message sent to 91 9650855800 on WhatsApp or a quick scan of the provided QR code can lead to the purchase of a ticket. However, cancellation is not an option for WhatsApp ticket booking.

It is expected that the Delhi government will launch a similar WhatsApp phone number for commuters to book a bus ticket in Delhi, NCR. The payment for the same will be done via UPI, or credit and debit cards, for a small convenience fee. There will be no cancellations for the online sale of tickets like DMRC.
