The Bharatiya Janata Party came into power in the national capital after 27 years and made several promises and schemes before the people of Delhi. The Aam Admi Party led by Arvind Kejriwal also launched several schemes for the benefit of people.
A majority of the established schemes focused specifically on supporting women. Before the elections, the Delhi government launched the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana. The BJP government made a promise to implement its scheme providing Rs 2500 to eligible participants.
After Rekha Gupta is designated as Chief Minister of Delhi, the main question that arises among the female residents of the city is when they will receive their Rs 2500 under this programme.
Till the above scheme is fully implemented, the women of Delhi can utilise existing schemes. Here are the included schemes explained.
Delhi Ladli Scheme
The Delhi Ladli Scheme Ladli Yojana launched its operations in Delhi during 2008 under the local government. The scheme provides financial funds to open an account for the daughter at each stage between her birth until her education. Delhi government distributes a Rs 11000 reward during the time of a daughter’s birth.
Money is provided to her through several designated occasions following the initial payment. The complete amount received with interest becomes available to the daughter once she reaches the age of 18. The money allocation aims to enable her access to higher education. Through education her future career success possibilities become excellent.
Old Age Pension Scheme
Old age pension operates through the Delhi government as an age-based benefit. All female inhabitants of Delhi who reached 60 years of age receive this senior citizen pension program through the Delhi “Old Age Pension Scheme”.The pension program under this scheme provides Rs. 2500 on a monthly basis. The BJP made a promise to enhance the old age pension scheme from its previous level of Rs. 2500 to Rs. 3000 before the elections took place.
Widow Pension Scheme
Through the Widow Pension Scheme the Delhi government gives pension benefits to all widowed women residents of Delhi. The government of Delhi operates the widow pension scheme as a separate program. The pension amount of Rs 2500 per month is distributed by the scheme to widows/destitute needy women throughout Delhi. Before recently held Delhi assembly elections the BJP made a pledge to enhance the financial support in this program from Rs 2500 to Rs 3000 whenever they took power.
