A woman hired a contract killer to murder her husband in the national capital. The police said they found a man’s body from a rain drain near the FCI godown in the Shakti Nagar area of North Delhi on February 3.
The body was sent for postmortem, and the deceased has been identified from his fingerprint as Sonu Nagar who was a resident of Paharganj. Sonu had a criminal past.
A senior police officer said that strangulation was the cause of Sonu’s death.
Meanwhile, Sonu’s wife Sarita filed a missing report of her husband at Gulabi Bagh police station. She stated in her complaint that two unidentified men had taken her husband on a bike.
When the police recorded Sonu’s wife’s statement, it observed inconsistency. The police examined CCTV footage and call details record (CDR) and found that a few people visited from Punjab, which was adjacent to the crime scene.
During the investigation, the cops found that Sarita was in touch with several numbers in Punjab, and one number was active in the Punjabi Bagh area.
Following the inputs, the police raided one accused and nabbed him. He confessed to his crime and told cops that Sarita had given him a contract to kill her husband.
The police said Sarita had a tiff over a property dispute with Sonu Nagar. She wanted to get rid of him and contacted these killers to murder her husband. The police are looking for another accused who is still on the run.
