Delhi Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the national capital, anticipating the city to be enveloped in dense fog on January 23. Safdarjung, the primary weather station, reported a visibility of 500 meters at 5:30 am, raising concerns about transportation disruptions.

At 6:30 am, the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) recorded a visibility of 1,000 meters, indicating challenging conditions for air travel. The IMD predicts mainly clear skies but warns of moderate to dense fog during the morning hours.
Delhi Weather – Temperature Outlook: Slight Rise Expected
The maximum and minimum temperatures are forecasted to settle around 18 and 7 degrees Celsius, respectively. The previous day recorded a maximum temperature of 17.6 degrees Celsius, three notches below the season’s average. The minimum temperature slightly increased to 6.1 degrees Celsius.

Visuals from IGIA at 6:20 am highlight flight delays due to the foggy conditions. Additionally, data from the Indian Railways indicates that 23 Delhi-bound trains are running behind schedule, attributing the delays to the dense fog affecting northern India.

While the winter chill slightly abates, the minimum temperature remains a notch below normal. The weather office reports a rise to 6.1 degrees Celsius from the previous day’s 4.8 degrees. The IMD foresees mainly clear skies during the day, with the possibility of turning partly cloudy in the afternoon or evening. The maximum temperature is expected to settle at 17 degrees Celsius.
