Delhi-Saharanpur Highway: Good News! Toll-Free Travel Up To Baghpat EPE Announced-Check Details

The Delhi-Saharanpur Highway is set to offer a significant benefit for travelers as vehicles will be able to travel toll-free up to Baghpat on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE). This development is expected to enhance connectivity and ease of travel for commuters in the region.

Commuters traveling on the Delhi-Saharanpur Highway are set to receive some good news soon. The stretch of the highway between Delhi and Baghpat, leading up to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE), will soon be toll-free. A formal notification and announcement are yet to be made, but the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has confirmed that the decision is under process.

According to a senior NHAI official, commuters between Delhi and Baghpat will no longer have to pay toll fees. However, a toll will be levied only after crossing a toll plaza located approximately 150 meters beyond the Baghpat EPE.

This section of the highway has been constructed as part of the Bharatmala project, a major initiative to improve road infrastructure across the country. The Delhi NH9 to Baghpat EPE stretch, spanning around 32 kilometres, has been developed with an investment of approximately ₹2,450 crores.

Preparations are also underway for the inauguration of this new section. Initially, it was planned to make the stretch between Delhi and the Loni border toll-free, with toll collection beginning beyond that point. A toll plaza had already been constructed for this purpose. However, with the latest changes, the toll-free status will extend from Delhi to Baghpat, offering significant relief to commuters.

Those traveling further to Saharanpur or Dehradun will still be required to pay tolls. This move is expected to make travel more convenient and cost-effective for people using this major highway.
