Delhi Residents Now Eligible For Ayushman Bharat – Haven’t Applied Yet? Step-by-Step Guide To Apply, Coverage and Benefits Explained

This health programme provides free medical treatment for 1,961 procedures across 27 medical specialties. It covers medicines, tests, hospital admissions, ICU care, and even surgeries, offering wide-ranging healthcare support to eligible people.

The BJP-led Delhi government has signed and MoU with the central government to implement the Ayushman Bharat health scheme (AB-PMJAY) in Delhi. By signing the agreement, Delhi has become the 35th state or Union Territory to adopt the scheme—only West Bengal hasn’t joined yet.

Some families in Delhi will get health insurance of Rs 10 lakh every year. The central government will pay Rs 5 lakh, and the Delhi government will pay Rs 5 lakh. Delhi officials and the National Health Authority signed the agreement. Union Health Minister JP Nadda and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta were present at the event.

Ayushman Bharat coverage

Under the new Ayushman Bharat scheme, some families in Delhi will get health coverage of ₹10 lakh every year. ₹5 lakh will come from the central government, and ₹5 lakh from the Delhi government.
A special campaign will start soon to help people join the scheme.

Who Is Eligible?

The Ayushman Bharat scheme was launched by the Central government as recommended by the National Health Policy 2017. It provides healthcare benefits to all individuals above the age of 70 regardless of their income. The age will be considered according to beneficiary’s Aadhaar card for the eligibility.

Steps To apply for Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY)?

Aadhaar-based e-KYC is mandatory for enrolling for the Ayushman Bharat scheme. For applying citizens need to visit www.beneficiary.nha.gov.in or the Ayushman app.

Guide to apply for Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY):

  • Visit pmjay.gov.in
  • Select PMJAY for 70+. You will be directed to beneficiary.nha.gov.in login page
  • Enter mobile number, fill the captcha correctly
  • Enter the OTP that you received on the registered mobile number
  • Select the state to apply for this health insurance scheme
  • Verify your eligibility. If you’re eligible, your name will appear on the right side of the page
  • Click on ‘Apply’ under the ‘Action’ column to register if your PMJAY card is not available
  • Authenticate your Aadhaar by entering the OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number
  • Registration Complete
