Delhi Pollution: CAQM Implements GRAP Stage-I Restrictions As AQI Reaches ‘Poor’ Category

This decision by CAQM was made as the air quality reached 'poor category' in national capital.

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) on Monday invoked restrictions under Stage-I of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), with immediate effect. This decision by CAQM was made as the air quality reached ‘poor category’ in national capital. As per the order, “The Sub-Committee on GRAP in its meeting held today further reviewed the air quality scenario in the region, as well as the IMD/ITM forecasts and sir quality index of Delhi.”

“AQI of Delhi has shown increasing and has been recorded as 217 for 02.04.2025 fin Poor’ category). Further, the forecast by IMD/ITM predicts AQI to remain in this range,” as per the order.

The Sub-Committee, accordingly, decides to invoke all actions under Stage-1 (‘Poor’ Air Quality) of the extant GRAP in the entire NCR, with immediate effect. “According to the order, Actions under Stage 1 of the extant GRAP shall be implemented, monitored and reviewed by all the agencies concerned in the entire NCR to ensure that the AQI levels do not slip further.”
