Firecrackers Banned in UP: Diwali celebrations have already begun, but firecrackers are banned in Delhi-NCR. The Supreme Court has allowed the use of only green crackers during the festival. Apart from Delhi-NCR, the ban also applies to several districts in Uttar Pradesh, including Meerut and Noida. Because pollution and breathing problems are increasing in the state, a strict decision has been made. Firecrackers are banned in eight districts.
Everyone must follow these rules. Those who break them may have to pay a fine of up to one lakh rupees or go to jail for up to five years. Action will also be taken against shops that sell firecrackers. The fire department will keep a close watch.
Diwali: Firecrackers banned in these Districts Too
Strict action will be taken against the firecrackers in Uttar Pradesh on this Diwali. Keeping in mind the rising pollution in the state and the increasing health and respiratory problems, the administration has decided to ban Firecrackers in eight districts of Uttar Pradesh.
People celebrating Diwali should strictly follow the rules. Violators will face a fine of up to one lakh rupees and a jail term of up to five years. Strict action will also be taken against shops who will sell the fire crackers. The fire department will maintain strict vigilance.
UP Government’s Ban on Fire Crackers in Meerut and other districts
The UP government has completely banned the manufacture, storage, and sale of firecrackers in eight districts of the state. The districts where firecrackers have been banned include Meerut, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida), Bulandshahr, Hapur, Baghpat, Shamli, and Muzaffarnagar.

Punishment for Violating Rules and Bursting Firecrackers
If anyone violates the rules, a daily fine of ₹5,000 will be imposed. For the past few years, air and noise pollution caused by firecrackers during Diwali has been a constant concern.
People can register their complaints through the Public Grievances related to Fire Crackers (NCR-U.P.) option on the board’s official website, uppcb.up.gov.in. The Supreme Court has given conditional approval to the use of firecrackers in Delhi-NCR on Diwali.
The Supreme Court has granted conditional approval for green firecrackers from October 18 to 21, 2025, permitting their use only between 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM on the day before Diwali and Diwali itself. Online sales of all firecrackers, including green ones, are strictly prohibited.
