The AQI in Delhi-NCR region is deteriorating day-by-day. In response to this where the air quality reached the ‘Severe Plus’ category, all the schools in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Noida have been asked to switch to online mode till November 23. This decision has come seeing the recent air quality. Delhi University has also announced a shift of classes from physical mode to online mode. The University made a statement saying, “In the larger interest of students, classes shall be conducted in Online Mode till Saturday, 23rd November 2024.”
This direction came after the AQI in both the region crossed 450 and landed into ‘Severe Plus’ category. The weather condition started becoming worsening since November 17.
Delhi University Switched Classes To Online Mode
DU has made an announcement by issuing a notice to switch classes to online mode until Nov 23 due to ‘Severe Plus’ AQI category. The offline classes in DU will be resumed from November 25.

Order To Switch Physical Classes To Online Mode In Noida
Gautam Buddha Nagar DM Manish Kumar Verma issued an notice on November 18. This came following the guidelines from CAQM.
The order includes following decision seeing the AQI level in the region, “In view of the above and to control poor air quality, the Commission has invoked Stage IV of the Graded Response Action Plan.”

GRAP Stage IV
GRAP Stage IV has recently been brought into action to deal with the pollution level in Delhi-NCR. Under this stage comes several restrictions. First is Medium and Heavy vehicles with diesel engine (BSIV or below) registered in Delhi are banned. Secondly, vehicles which carry essential goods are allowed in the national capital. Next one is commercial vehicles from outside the national capital which are non essential one are prohibited. The Trucks carrying which carry non-essential items are prohibited from entering Delhi.
The order issued in Noida mentions that, all schools under Gautam Buddha Nagar should adhere to these rules mentioned under GRAP IV. It mentions that all schools shall switch the physical classes from pre-school to class 12th to online mode.
