New Delhi: Delhi Police have detained a minor in connection with the murder of a 28-year-old private tutor, Waseem, in the Jamia Nagar area.
The minor claimed he killed Waseem because the latter had been sexually assaulting him for some time and had allegedly made videos of the acts to blackmail him.
On August 30, police discovered Waseem’s body with deep cut injuries on his neck. A murder case was registered at Jamia Nagar police station, and an investigation began. The minor was identified through surveillance.
Following the investigation, the Jamia Nagar police registered a murder case in connection with the tragic incident involving the slaying of Waseem, the 28-year-old private tutor. It was a crime that had sent shockwaves through the community and the city as a whole.
As the police delved into the matter, critical details emerged. The minor, now the key suspect in this horrifying crime, admitted to taking Waseem’s life, citing relentless sexual abuse as the motive. Disturbingly, the minor claimed that Waseem had been subjecting him to sexual assaults for a prolonged period.
According to police statements, Waseem had not only sexually assaulted the minor on multiple occasions but had also gone to the extent of recording these acts. He then used these recordings to blackmail the minor, perpetuating a cycle of abuse and fear.
On the day of the incident, August 30, the situation reached a breaking point. Waseem, allegedly unfazed by the minor’s distress, summoned him at approximately 11:30 AM, presumably for yet another sexual assault. Faced with continued abuse and extortion, the minor decided to take matters into his own hands, resorting to the use of a sharp paper cutter to end Waseem’s reign of terror.
During the investigation the police recovered critical evidence. Notably, Waseem’s mobile phone, along with the clothes and shoes worn by the minor during the fateful incident, were retrieved.
