After the completion of the 12-kilometre stretch, the Delhi Metro will be the largest metro line in the world, said officials, adding that till now New York City has the largest metro line, spanning around 399 kilometres. Currently the DMRC is spread around 395 kilometres, and with expansion it will be the largest metro line.
Golden Line
The Golden Line is part of the Phase 4 expansion of the Delhi Metro, adding new underground and elevated metro routes. According to reports from TOI, one major achievement is the completion of tunnelling between Kishangarh-Vasant Kunj stations of the Tughlakabad-Aerocity corridor.
Areas Of The New Metro Line
In Phase 4, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is constructing 40.109 km of underground metro lines. The Tughlakabad-Aerocity corridor will have 19.343 km of underground track alone. The aim is to connect South Delhi and other important places.
About The Construction Progress
In a statement, the DMRC added that one tunnel boring machine has completed excavation at Vasant Kunj station. The 91 m long tunnel boring machine took out a 1,550-m tunnel, and the second tunnel on the same stretch is expected to be completed in June.

The Delhi Metro spans 10 colour-coded lines extending across an expanse of 395 kilometres as of March 2025. There are 289 stations within the metropolitan region, occupying Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gurugram, Noida, Bahadurgarh, and Ballabgarh, extending beyond the limits of Delhi.
