After the incident at RAU’s IAS coaching center in Old Rajendra Nagar, Delhi, the Delhi Police and Delhi Municipal Corporation are taking continuous action. Recently, MCD sealed the Drishti (The Vision) coaching center in Nehru Vihar. MCD explained that during their survey, they found coaching classes being conducted in the shared basement of Towers 1, 2, and 3 in Nehru Vihar, which they have now sealed.
The MCD explained that they sealed Drishti Vision IAS for violating building rules by using the basement for coaching classes.
The MCD stated that their field staff found coaching classes running in the joint basement of towers one, two, and three, violating the occupancy certificate. As a result, the team sealed the coaching center.
Earlier on Sunday, the Delhi Municipal Corporation sealed 13 coaching centers operating illegally in basements and posted notices on them.
MCD officials inspected several coaching centers in Rajendra Nagar and took action after their investigation. Mayor Shaili Oberoi stated that MCD has begun sealing all coaching centers in Rajendra Nagar that are illegally operating in basements, and this campaign may extend throughout Delhi if necessary. By late night, 13 coaching centers were sealed.
The police arrested 5 more people today related to the death of three students due to water filling the basement. Previously, the owner and coordinator of the coaching center were also arrested, making a total of 7 arrests so far. The police also arrested the driver of the SUV that passed by the main road, which reportedly increased the pressure, causing water to enter the building.
