In the Maujpur area of northeast Delhi, a tragic incident unfolded as a 36-year-old man, identified as Sajid, allegedly killed his 32-year-old wife, Nisha, due to suspicions of infidelity, said the police on Monday.
The distressing event came to light when a PCR call reported a man stabbing his wife at their residence in Vijay Mohalla, Maujpur, at 1:06 AM on Monday. Nisha suffered multiple stab wounds inflicted by her husband and was rushed to GTB Hospital, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) Joy Tirky. Tragically, the medical professionals declared her dead.
Nisha had sustained severe stab injuries on her neck, chest, and left hand during the altercation, the police confirmed.
Amid the altercation between the couple, their 11-year-old elder daughter intervened, resulting in an injury to her hand, as reported by the authorities.

“The couple has two daughters, and both were present at home during the incident. We have filed charges of murder and attempted murder under sections 302 and 307 of the Indian Penal Code at Jafrabad police station. Sajid has been taken into custody,” the DCP stated.
During the subsequent police interrogation, it was revealed that Sajid had previously operated a mobile repair shop but was currently unemployed. The initial investigation indicated that Sajid had suspicions that his wife was unfaithful to him. The knife used in the tragic event has been confiscated by the police.
