The court’s decision was spurred by the resident’s failure to appear in court despite prior orders, leading the court to instruct social media platforms like X, YouTube, and Meta to remove the content within 36 hours.

Mehta further stated, “This ruling establishes that consumers cannot seek financial gain through illegal and defamatory posts by misusing social media.’
