In view of the rising pollution, the Delhi government has taken an important step to protect students in schools and colleges. All sports activities have been banned as pollution levels in the city continue to climb with the onset of winter. Yesterday, the AQI in several parts of Delhi crossed 400. It should be noted that two days ago, the Supreme Court expressed concern about the dangerous levels of pollution in Delhi-NCR. The court described pollution as particularly harmful for children. The court stated that sports activities in poor air quality could be dangerous for children. To this end, the court directed the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to consider postponing sporting events scheduled for November and December.
BCCI shifts knockout stage of key tournament from Delhi to Mumbai
According to reports, the knockout stage of the annual men’s Under-23 ODI tournament has been moved from Delhi to Mumbai due to pollution. However, it was reported that the Board had verbally, not in writing, instructed the Mumbai Cricket Association to be prepared to host the matches from November 25th to December 1st.
