The trail work on the Regional Rapid Transit System section from New Ashok Nagar To Sarai Kale khale is expected to begin by end of February 2025, as per NCRTC officials.
The inauguration of the 13-Kilometers route connecting Sahibabad to New Ashok Nagar is expected to take place in On December. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be doing inauguration of this section.
The total length of the project connecting Delhi to Meerut is 82-Km. The cost of the project is around Rs 30,274 crore. The work is expected to get completed by June, 2025.
Currently, the route connecting Sahibabad to Meerut-South is open to public. It covers 9 stations. The inauguration of the 13-Kilometer stretch of the RRTS will be done soon.
As quoted by Hindustan Times, Chief Public Relations Officer, Punnet Vats mentioned that, “Once the 13km section opens up, we can expect that trial runs on the 5km remaining section from New Ashok Nagar to Sarai Kale Khan may begin by the end of February, 2025 or in the initial days of March.”
Three Sections Opened To Public
Currently, three sections of the Delhi-Meerut RRTS got opened to public, first one connects Sahibabad to Duhai got operational is October 2023. The length of this part is 17-Km. Similarly, The second one who’s length is also 17-Km, connects Duhai to Modinagar got operational in March, 2024.
And the third section who’s length is 8-Km stretch connecting Modinagar North to Meerut South got operational in August 2024.
