Several projects are underway to connect the National capital with its surrounding areas. As per National Capital Region Transport Corporation, the trial run between New Ashok Nagar and Sahibabad stations on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor is nearly finished.
The project is expected to start by 2025. An NCRTC official stated that, the development work of Sarai Kale Khan station is in its final stage. Currently, the track laying work is underway between New Ashok Nagar and Sarai Kale Khan.
After this process, the trial phase will get started. According to a official, the station will have a parking space. Under this around 1200 vehicles can be parked.
According to media reports, the trial run on the Delhi-Meerut-Ghaziabad RRTS corridor between the Sahibabad and New Ashok Nagar is progressing is progressing rapidly. Another official mentioned that after the work of the trial run, the length of the corridor will get extended from 42-km to 54-km.
After the connection of Sahibabad’s New Ashok Nagar station, the Namo Bharat train will commence on this route.\
This will cut the travel time and make the journey comfortable for the commuters. The distance between Delhi will be covered in around 40 minutes.
The New Ashok Nagar station is designed as a multi-modal transport hub. This will enhance the connectivity till Blue line of Delhi Metro. To make this process happen a 90 meter long over bridge will be developed, which will connect New Ashok Nagar Station RRTS to New Ashok Nagar Metro.
Also, two parking area have been created. Under these parking lots around 6– vehicles can be parked. Free pick and drop service will be available for 10 minutes at the parking lot.
This underground Anand Vihar RRTS station is set to become a the major transit hub. As per media reports, it will join Anand Vihar station and two ISBTs to the Blue and Pink Line of Delhi Metro.
