A 23-year-old woman was arrested on Saturday for kidnapping and sexually trafficking a girl in 2020 and helping the two men sexually assault her over four months. According to the police, the accused held the girl captive for four months. The accused drugged and tortured her.
Police further said that, the accused took the money from two men so they could rape the victim. After this the set the girl free in the year 2020, fearing that the police would catch her.
Police stated that, this is the first arrest in the case. The case was of October 2019, when the girl was reported missing. After this a case of Kidnapping was lodged in Kanjhawala.
Police official said that, the girl went missing when her parents went to their hometown, and the girl was stayed back with her other siblings.
Police mentions that, many attempts were made but the girl could not be found. After few months, in February 2020, girl was found in Bawana. Police said that, the accused had fear of being caught by the police, hence they released her.
Police’s Statement On The Incident
Satish Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of police (crime), said that, the minor girl told the magistrate that, a woman had lured her to Surat with job opportunity.
He further mentioned that, “The minor was held captive, administered intoxicating substances, and subjected to repeated sexual assault by two men under the woman’s instructions. The victim was illegally confined in Surat for four months”.
A senior police officer said that, ““The accused was termed a proclaimed offender by the court in 2021. Last week we received confidential information regarding her whereabouts. Using technical surveillance and manual intelligence, we learnt that the woman is near her hometown Ludhiana”.
A case of gangrape and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) was registered based of the minor girl statement.
