Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: Work To Be Completed Within 3 Months, Claims Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari

The project eases the travel for the commuters. It reduces the travel time. The journey from Delhi to Dehradun will be covered in just 2 hours. Currently, the time taken to cover the journey is around six hours.

Union Road Transport & Highways Minister, Nitin Gadkari made an announcement on Friday regarding the Delhi-Dehradun expressway. He gave an update through his announcement that the project will be completed within three months.

The project eases the travel for the commuters. It reduces the travel time. The journey from Delhi to Dehradun will be covered in just 2 hours. Currently, the time taken to cover the journey is around six hours.

About Delhi-Dehradun Expressway

Delhi-Dehradun Expressway will be a 213-km long route. The project is under the Bharatmala Pariyojana initiative. The main aim of the project is to boost connectivity and the development of roads. The cost of the project is Rs 13,000 crore.

The route will reduce the time travel from six hours to 2 hours 30 minutes. It eases traffic-related problems and solves the time-related issue. It makes the journey of the commuters easier.

Nitin Gadkari On Upcoming Projects

Addressing the media event, Nitin Gadkari stated that, the work should be finished in two months. In an Event by Times Network, Gadkari Stated that “A ₹10,000 crore project has been approved for Delhi’s Kalindi Kunj, extending to Faridabad. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the project within the next 15-20 days.”

He mentioned that the Ministry of Transport is responsible for 40% of air pollution. But he also said that the major part of the pollution is due to the burning of stubble.

Two packages for the Delhi-Dehradun highway project have been announced by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways.

He mentioned that the government is trying to build 36 green express highways. These projects will aim to reduce the cost of logistics in the country.

According to him, this will help in boosting the export by 1.5 times.
