The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is likely to get open to public in January 2025. The work on the route is almost complete.
The expressway will be beneficial for the commuters in many ways. It will save trvel time of commuters. The journey on the route can be completed in just 2.5 hours to 3 hours. This route will increase the number of tourist visiting Dehradun. According to media reports, around 10,000 to 15,000 vehicles enter the Mussoorie during the weekends.
But increase in number of tourist can lead to traffic jams in Dehradun. To deal with this issue, the traffic directorate have come up with a plan. They have introduced a special road for it. This will make tourist travel a extra 50-Km to reach Mussoorie.
About The Plan
The plan is to redirect the tourist who are travelling to Mussoorie to deal with the traffic-related issue. The vehicles which are supposed to enter the region will be diverted from Dehradun ISBT towards the Shimla Bypass. This will follow a particular road, crossing several checkpoints.
To support the commuters, the alternative road will get updated the the GPS device. With the use of the GPS system the tourists will be able to reach their destination very easily. The traffic directorate, in partnership with the National Highway Authority, is making certain changes like widening of roads, installing lights along the new route and putting barricades in the route where required.
