Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: Good News! New Route To Open Soon, Uttarakhand CM Inspects Construction Work

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has inspected the work of the expressway. He mentioned that the work of the elevated road is in the final stage.

Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: Good News! New Route To Open Soon, Uttarakhand CM Inspects Construction Work

The work on the two lanes of Delhi-Dehradun expressway has been completed. PM Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate it, as per media reports. The inauguration of it may happen by the end of this month that is December 2024 or by first week of Next year that is January 2025. The date of inauguration is yet to be decided.

The estimated cost of the project is Rupees 13,000 crore. The expressway will cover total distance of 210-km. It makes the travel easier for the commuters. This will reduce the travel time from 6.5 hours to 2.5 hours. This will save time of commuters using the expressway.

The length of both the sections of expressway is 32-km. The 15-km is in border area of Baghpat and Ghaziabad. The rest 17-km of the Delhi portion is elevated, as per media reports.

The expressway joins at Eastern Peripheral expressway at Mavikala village which is situated near Baghpat. The work on both the sections of the expressway is completed.

As per media reports, the preparation for inaugural of the sections has been completed by NHAI. The trail for safety of the roads has been done on it. This was done by making heavy vehicles run on it. As per reports no flaws were found on it.

The expressway connects Akshardham to Laxminagar, Geeta Colony, Lohe Ka Pul, Shastri Park, Kartarnagar, Khajuri Khas Chowk, Biharipur, Ankur Vihar, Sharda City and Pavi Pushta. The expressway of joined to Eastern Peripheral in Baghpat, as per reports.

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has inspected the work of the expressway. He mentioned that the work of the elevated road is in the final stage.

Pushkar Singh Dhami said that, “I thank PM and Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, the construction of elevated road from Dehradun to Delhi is in the final stage…once it is completed, the journey from Dehradun to Delhi will become convenient.”

He mentioned about it on his X handle and wrote that, “Conducted a field inspection of the construction work of Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. During this, information was obtained from the officials about the modern technologies and environmental safety measures being used in the construction of the expressway. In this project, Asia’s largest wildlife corridor has also been built by coordinating ecology and economy, which will protect the wildlife and make their movement free and completely safe. Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is an important project in the infrastructure sector.”

He also said that, “”After the completion of the construction of this expressway under the able leadership of the respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, the Delhi-Dehradun journey can be completed in just two and a half hours. This project will bring positive changes in the economic condition of Uttarakhand and will also promote tourism and business activities.”
