The project under the Bharatmala Pariyojana initiative focusses on the India’s road development. The project is led by National Highway Authority of India and cost of it is Rs 13,000 crore. The Delhi-Dehradun expressway is set to open in the month of January next year.
Benefits From The Project
The expressway will cover a distance of 210-km. It makes the travel easier and comfortable for the commuters. This will cut the travel time from 6.5 hours to 2.5 hours. The reduction in journey time of commuters will be saving their time .
The project aims to upgrade the roads of India. The total investment in this project is of Rs 13,000 crore.
The project is constructed in stages. In the first stage a stretch was made of 31.6-km which stars from Akshardham to Khekra. This also includes a 18-km elevated track. This had a budget of Rupees 1,323 crore.
The construction of this is almost completed. And final details about the project is expected by the end of December 2024, as per media reports.
As per media reports the expressway will be open from January 2025. This will boost connectivity between Dehradun and Delhi.
The expressway which is 210-km long will be connecting Delhi and Dehradun through Shamli and Saharanpur. This will enhance the road connectivity in these areas.
The elevated route of 12-km is made to protect the wildlife as it will be crossing over Rajaji National Park. The corridor will have a robust safety measures, this will reduce the accidents. The project is environment friendly.
The route connecting both places will boost tourism. It will be faster, friendly for commuters
