Good news for commuters who are waiting to travel on the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. There is a relief in toll tax payment for people travelling from Akshardham to Loni Border.
In the 18-km stretch of the Delhi-Dehradun expressway there will be no toll charges applied. But after this toll charges will be applied as per the distance travelled by commuters on the expressway, as per media reports.
The expressway boost the connectivity between the districts coming in between the route. It benefits commuters of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
The expressway will ease the traffic jam. It will cut the travel time of the commuters. The Delhi-Dehradun will solve the problem of congestion on roads and will save the time of commuters.
National Highway Authority of India has laid several rules for toll collection. According to officials, It will take the decision soon on the prices of toll, as per media reports.
As per media reports the toll rates on the Delhi and Baghpat route will be higher as the 90% of the stretch of expressway is elevated here.
The total length of the expressway is 210-km. The testing work has been started in the major portion of the Akshardham to Khekra route in Baghpat.
As per NHAI for now the 32-km section is to be opened for the public. Project Implementation Unit is the nodal agency for monitoring the toll plaza.
The length of both the sections of expressway is 32-km. The 15-km is in border area of Baghpat and Ghaziabad. The rest 17-km of the Delhi portion is elevated, as per media reports.
The cost of the project is Rupees 13,000 crore. The expressway will cover total distance of 210-km. It will save time of commuters using this route. This will reduce the travel time from 6.5 hours to 2.5 hours. This will save time of commuters using the expressway.
The inauguration of the project may be done by the end of this month, December 2024 or in first week of January 2025. The date of inauguration is yet to be released.
