Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: A Game Changer! 213-Km Road To Open Soon, Ease Traffic, Reduce Travel Time

The project connects Akshardham Temple in Delhi to Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh. The total length of this is 32-km. On the other end the last phase, joins Ganespur situated in Uttar Pradesh to Ashardodi in Dehradun.

Delhi-Dehradun Expressway which is 213-km long route. The project comes under the Bharatmala Pariyojana initiative. The main focus of the project is the development of road and building connectivity among cities.

The cost of the project is Rs 13,000 crore. As per media reports, the expressway is set to open for public by the end of December 2024 or in January 2025.

The route will reduce the time travel from six hours to 2 hours 30 minutes. It ease traffic related problem and solves the time related issue. It makes the journey of the commuters easier.

With the coming new year, 2025, the traveling in the two different cities Delhi and Dehradun will be easier. The expressway will pass through Baghpat and Saharanpur.

The last and the final stretch of 20-km between Saharanpur and Dehradun is almost completed, as per media reports. This will have an elevated stretch of 12-km which will connect Asharodi and Ganeshpur. The 12-km route is already going with trails.

With the development of the longest wildlife route in Asia, the travel time will be reduced and will take 15-20 minutes to cross the route. The route will cross over the Rajaji National Park.

As per media reports, the expressway will get completed in 4 phases. The expressway will have 76-km service road, 16 entry and exit points, 110 vehicle underpasses & it will have 5 railway over-bridges.
