The Delhi Crime Branch has busted a major cricket betting racket. Ten people were arrested for betting on Australia’s Big Bash League matches.
The arrested accused included people from different states. The accused were running this betting network together.
Raju Vaishnav,48, Ajay Kumar,43, Yogesh Taneja,36, Tarun Khanna,34, Manish Jain,34, Kushal,32, Parvesh Kumar,44, Harvinder Deol, 38, Gautam Das,43, and Jagrit Sahni, 32, are among the accused involved in this illegal business.
They all are accused of being part of a betting racket. They are the ones who were betting on the matches of the T-20 Big Bash League 2024-2025.
After receiving information about this racket, Police conducted a raid on a flat on Joshi Road located in Karol Bagh on 21 December 2024. A total of 10 people were present in the flat. They all were betting on live matches on their laptops and mobile phones. Police have recovered 5 laptops, 14 mobile phones, 1 smart TV, and many things from the spot.

Mode Of Operating
According to the investigation, it was found that the accused had bought a master ID, which they used to sell the IDs to other people.
Not only this but the accused used to bet offline as well and used to write the betting placed by the customer on a notepad.
There was betting of about Rs 1.5 lakh daily, out of which their profit was around 30 to 40 thousand rupees. The police have filed an FIR and started investigating the matter.

- Raju Vaishnav – A resident of Karol Bagh, Delhi, and Goldsmith, who was the mastermind of this racket.
- Ajay Kumar – Resident of Karol Bagh, earlier used to run a clothes shop, now involved in the racket.
- Yogesh Taneja – Resident of Agra, earlier used to work at a medical shop.
- Tarun Khanna – A Resident of Agra, came into betting from a medical shop.
- Manish Jain – Resident of Jaipur, used to work with gas stoves.
- Kushal – Resident of Pali, Rajasthan, used to run a mobile shop.
- Parvesh Kumar – Resident of Karol Bagh, earlier used to work as a tailor.
- Harvinder Deol – Resident of Agra, used to run a mobile shop.
- Gautam Das – Resident of Pali, Rajasthan, used to run a mobile shop.
- Jagrit Sahni (Sunny) – Resident of Karol Bagh, was a software expert, who used to create IDs and passwords.
