The Delhi Police Crime Branch has busted a major international arms trafficking racket. Police have arrested four accused linked to the syndicate, who were attempting to supply sophisticated weapons, sent from Pakistan via drones to notorious gangsters.

According to the police, the consignment was brought into India through Punjab and was meant to be delivered to the Lawrence Bishnoi, Bambiha, Gogi and Himanshu Bhau gangs. The seized weapons include high-tech firearms manufactured in Turkey and China.

Arms cache seized from Rohini

The Crime Branch had received intelligence inputs that certain traffickers were planning to deliver a large cache of weapons in the national capital. Acting on the tip-off, police laid a trap in the Rohini area and apprehended the accused. A substantial quantity of modern weapons was recovered from the spot and the investigation into the entire network is underway.

Accused belong to Uttar Pradesh and Punjab

The arrested individuals are residents of Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. Police stated that the large consignment of weapons was seized from Delhi’s Rohini locality. Acting on specific intelligence that arms traffickers were arriving to supply the weapons in the capital, the Crime Branch team set up a trap and arrested the suspects.
