Police operations continued for the fourth straight day in the Kashmir Valley. After Monday’s Delhi blasts, the crackdown on terrorists intensified on Tuesday. So far, more than 1,500 people have been detained. The Jammu and Kashmir Police said that teams carried out surprise checks across several districts to deter those allegedly trying to disturb public order.
Who were detained by Jammu and Kashmir Police?
Officials said that properties of Jammu and Kashmir residents living in PoK and those booked under UAPA were also searched. A senior official added that surveillance of several accused released on bail under the UAPA showed violations of bail conditions. News reports suggest that the police are now preparing applications to the competent courts to cancel these bail orders.
According to the police, some of the accused have reportedly resumed activities detrimental to public safety. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reviewed the security situation on Tuesday and directed the police, intelligence units, and security agencies to maintain constant vigil and ensure seamless coordination.
Crackdown in Anantnag
A separate directive was issued after an assault rifle was seized from the locker used by Dr. Adil Majeed Rather at the Government Medical College in Anantnag. Dr. Adil served as a senior resident at the college until October 24, 2024, and then worked at a private hospital in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He was arrested on November 6 for his alleged role in putting up posters supporting the Pakistan-backed banned organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed in Srinagar.
Officials directed teachers, paramedical staff, and students at health institutions to identify their individual lockers by November 14 and mark their names, designations, and codes. Officials said unclaimed lockers would be removed during the inspection.
Delhi Car Blast – What Happened on November 10, 2025?
A car explosion happened near the Red Fort, killing at least 10 people and injuring many others. More than 30 people were seriously hurt in the incident. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is handling the case. According to Delhi Police, the explosion happened in a slow-moving vehicle near the Red Fort traffic signal around 6:52 pm on November 10, while the occupants were still inside. Police and fire officials rushed to the spot, and the blaze was brought under control by 7:29 pm.
