The probe agency has also registered a PMLA case over financial irregularities involving the Faridabad Al-Falah University. This included the Red Fort bomber Dr Umar Nabi and others accused in the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM)-linked "white collar" Faridabad terror module who worked in the institute, as well as the owners of the institute.

What led to the ED raids?
The ED action comes days after the Delhi Police registered two separate FIRs against Al-Falah University. The University's membership has already been revoked by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) after the news on the connections to the terror module emerged.
The FIR pertaining to allegations of cheating and forgery has been lodged against them. Based on a complaint by the University Grants Commission (UGC), police issued two summonses to the Al-Falah University founder, Javed Ahmad Siddiqui. ED had commenced the interrogation of Javed, who had been untraceable for the past few days. His statements are crucial to resolve several inconsistencies related to the University's operations.
