Delhi Airport Update: Delhi residents woke up to a thick layer of fog shrouding the capital on Friday morning, with visibility reducing to zero. A minimum temperature of 9.6 degrees Celsius was recorded at 5.30 am on Friday, as per the data of the India Meteorological Department (IMD). IMD has predicted the minimum temperature to dip to 6 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature is expected to hover around 20 degrees Celsius with “very dense fog.” A yellow alert for dense fog on 10 January has been issued by the Met Department.
Delhi Airport Issues Advisory
Meanwhile, in view of the dense fog, the Delhi Airport issued an advisory for the passengers. It has stated that the dense fog will impact flight departures. It has further advised the passengers to contact their respective airlines for updated flight information.
As per the latest update, Delhi Airport said, “While landings and take offs continue at Delhi Airport, flights that are not CAT III compliant may get affected. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.”

The advisory earlier stated, “Due to dense Fog, there has been impact on Flight departures, however, flights which are CAT III compliant are able to land and depart from Delhi Airport. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information. Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.”

Furthermore, the air quality in the national capital dropped to ‘severe’ category. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the AQI was recorded at 409 in Delhi today at 7 am. Yesterday at the same time it was 299.
