The Central government made an announcement regarding staggering the work timing for their employees on Thursday, November 21,2024.

As Delhi’s AQI level is deteriorating day-by-day, government has taken several steps to deal with the pollution level in the national capital. Currently Delhi is dealing with the poor air quality, which brings risk to people’s health.

The Central government made an announcement regarding staggering the work timing for their employees on Thursday, November 21,2024.

Department of Personnel and Training stated that, seeing the pollution level in the national capital, the central government, ministries and the organizations are asked to follow the steps in GRAP-IV. The office will have staggered timing till the GRAP Stage IV is in force.

The timing will be from 9am to 5:pm and 10 am till 6:30pm. The department stated that, staff coming to office by their personal vehicles would be encourages to use the public transport. Doing this will minimize the pollutants coming from Vehicles.

They further said that, “The measures may be adopted by ministries, departments, or organizations as per their functional requirements, ensuring that they should not have an adverse impact on efficiency and productivity in any manner.”

As per media reports, the Central Secretariat Service Forum wrote to Department of Personnel and Training secretary regarding work-from-home service and for air purifiers in central government offices. Also they mentioned about the N95 mask for all the staff working in those offices.

AQI In Delhi

The current Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi is 275, which is seen as “Very Unhealthy“. The dominant pollutant is recorded as PM25.
