Delhi: 3 Workers Killed As Under-Construction Building Collapses; Fire Tenders Rush To The Spot

Three workers lost their lives as a multi-storey building collapsed near Sadbhavna Park in Central Delhi’s Daryaganj on Wednesday. The deceased have been identified as Zubair, Gulsagar, and Taufiq, who were working at the site when the structure they were in gave way and caved in.

The three workers were trapped under the debris and were declared dead upon being taken to the hospital. According to an NDTV report, the police received information around 12:14 PM, after which a police team, along with fire tenders, rushed to the spot. The injured were moved to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital, and the District Disaster Management Authority was also informed.

The sudden collapse of the building did not give the workers enough time to clear the area. To assist the police, NDRF and DDMA staff joined the rescue operation.

Sources say preliminary information indicates that some construction work was ongoing at the site. The exact cause behind the collapse is yet to be ascertained.
