Amid heavy traffic jams on the roads leading to Prayagraj, a route chart has been issued for 11 districts. Find out where you can enter the Maha Kumbh!

With major festivals like Maghi Purnima and Maha Shivaratri approaching, Prayagraj, the host city of the Maha Kumbh, is facing severe congestion due to the massive influx of devotees. On Monday, traffic stretched for over 300 km, with vehicles lined up for 3-4 hours. A traffic advisory has been issued, which will remain in effect from February 10 to 13, 2025.

In a press release, traffic authorities provided detailed information about the route chart and parking arrangements for the 11 districts. The release stated that, in view of the Maghi Purnima festival on February 12, 2025, the following traffic diversions and parking arrangements will be implemented to ensure smooth movement and safety of the devotees coming to the fair area:

From 8:00 PM on February 10, 2025, until 8:00 AM on February 13, 2025 (or until the crowd subsides), all types of vehicles, except administrative and medical vehicles, will be prohibited from entering the Maha Kumbh Mela area.

The heavy traffic caused by the Maha Kumbh has led to chaos in the city, prompting Akhilesh Yadav to remark, "Ministers of the government are missing." Devotees attending the Maha Kumbh Mela will be able to park their vehicles at 36 designated parking areas.

Route for bathers and devotees arriving on foot in the Mela:-

  1. Walking route to reach Sangam- Devotees/bathers coming to Sangam will be able to enter from GT Jawahar, come to Kali Road and go to Sangam via Sangam Upper Road via Kali Ramp.
  2. Walking route to return from Sangam- From Sangam area, they will be able to return to their destination via Akshayvat Marg and interlocking return route Triveni Marg.

It has been announced that the entry to the Sangam Mela area will be via Jawaharlal Nehru Marg Kali Sadak, while the exit route will be through Triveni Marg. Additionally, Akshayvat will remain closed for darshan during the major bathing festivals.
