Dancer assaulted during pre-wedding function in Haryana’s Nuh after objecting to groom’s relative’s misconduct

Police said the dancer, identified as Payal Choudhary, was assaulted by the relative after she objected to the groom’s relative’s behaviour when he brought his hand too close to one of the dancers while carrying cash.

In a shocking incident, a dancer was assaulted during a pre-wedding celebration in Haryana’s Nuh district after she objected to inappropriate behaviour by the groom’s relative. The incident took place on November 16.

Police said the dancer, identified as Payal Choudhary, was assaulted by the relative after she objected to the groom’s relative’s behaviour when he brought his hand too close to one of the dancers while carrying cash.

A video shows the man throwing cash on her, to which she resisted and tried to hit him, but he also slapped her back and soon it converted into an ugly fight.

The men were seen climbing onto the stage and trying to assault her. A few were seen with sticks. The groom’s side targeted a man who was attempting to save the two dancers.

A video of the incident went viral on social media. Police said a probe has been launched and they are examining the CCTV footage to identify the attackers.
