Rainfall and hailstorms have struck various areas of Manipur, resulting in damage to houses, buildings, and crops in Thoubal’s Sapam Leikai and Khongjom villages, as reported.

Last week, Manipur’s Senapati district was struck by a powerful hailstorm, which devastated homes and crops, leaving around 40 houses reduced to rubble, according to officials. This natural disaster has rendered hundreds homeless. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings of further downpours in the state. Multiple news outlets have reported that the recent storm in Manipur caused numerous disruptions in power distribution across various regions. Thankfully, there have been no reported casualties or injuries. Locals witnessed robust winds tearing off and demolishing the roof of the government-run Tengkonjang Higher Secondary School.
