Cyclone Senyar Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted persistent heavy rainfall to sweep South India this week. Torrential rains are expected to batter the Andaman & Nicobar Islands from November 25 to 29, 2025. Meanwhile, the southern Indian States of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Mahe, Andhra Pradesh, and Yanam are expected to receive rainfall until November 29, 2025.

The IMD also said that an upper cyclonic circulation is likely to form over Comorin and adjoining areas of the southwest Bay of Bengal and Sri Lanka on November 25. Tamil Nadu has already been receiving heavy showers over the past 24 hours. Amid this, the Met Department has sounded a yellow alert in Chennai on Tuesday, November 25. The developing Bay of Bengal cyclone has been named Senyar, which means ‘lion.
Dense Fog Forecast
A warning against dense fog conditions has been issued during night and early morning hours in isolated pockets of northwestern parts of West Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura today.
