New Delhi: The Congress Working Committee (CWC) is going to hold an important meeting today i.e. Sunday. In the meeting, important discussion regarding the next president election of the party will be held. As per reports, the CWC meeting will be chaired by Sonia Gandhi.
It is also being told that the Gandhi family will take part virtually in this meeting. This is because Sonia Gandhi is undergoing a medical check-up in abroad. Both Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi are also with her.
According to sources, so far the only agenda for the CWC meeting is to discuss the schedule for the Congress President’s post.
AICC general secretary-in-charge organization KC Venugopal said in a tweet in this regard on August 24, “A virtual meeting of CWC to approve the exact schedule of dates for the election of Congress President will be held on 28 August 2022 at 3:30 PM. Congress President Sonia Gandhi will preside over the CWC meeting.”

The CWC meeting on August 28 assumes significance as it is being held at a time when senior party member Ghulam Nabi Azad has resigned. Azad was a member of the CWC.
